Chantilly has a very good reputation for the quality of its land/ soil.

Therefore, since the 19th century, numerous riding stables and training centers have been established in this territory. Today, more than 3,000 thorougbreds horses train daily at the tracks of Chantilly, Gouvieux, and Lamorlaye and Avilly-Saint-Léonard, cities in the of Chantilly.

47 km of trails in the forest are reserved for training racehorses. They go every day of the year until 1 pm. These tracks are closed to the public for safety reasons during training, but then are available for hiking or a walk.

The Tourist Office propose some routes that do not pass these tracks and hiking is allowed at any time.
